The Nun: Review

⭐⭐⭐

The Nun, a spin-off film to The Conjuring 2. A movie for studying.

My unfiltered thoughts.

Minor spoiler alert

The Nun is a gothic supernatural horror film directed by Dauberman and James Wan, featuring  Taissa FarmigaDemián Bichir and Jonas Bloquet, with Bonnie Aarons. The film surely was great, it was not lacking in the CGI or cinematography, but the plot was kind of lacking and predictable... BUT if you are an avid fan of The Conjuring then you will surely enjoy watching it as it is in the same universe as The Conjuring.
Like in The Conjuring, The Nun mainly delves into the horrors of the evil entity haunting the believers of the church. The story followed Father Burke and Sister Irene, as they unravel the mystery behind the death of two Roman Catholic nuns living at the Saint Cartha's monastery. As the story unfold, it was revealed that the evil entity was Valak, which of course was featured in The Conjuring. If you watched The Conjuring 2 then you are familiar with this evil nun.
Though in terms of thrill and suspense, the film has only offered a bit of jump scares, which is why I only gave it 3 stars out of 5. For me, the only interesting part was when Sister Irene tried to uncover the origin of Valak, so you might find it boring throughout the film, unless you are a fan of The Conjuring. That is also why I said beforehand that it is a good movie for studying, because you will not be too distracted.
