Strangers From Hell: Review
Strangers From Hell, adapted from the Webtoon "Hell is Other People". Come find my unfiltered thoughts.
Strangers from Hell is a psychological thriller K-drama series with 10 episodes, available on Netflix, Disney+, and Prime Video. Though, I watched it in loklok I suggest you watch it in legal platforms😉. Moving on, I was mainly convinced to watch Stranger From Hell because of Lee Dong Wook. I have watched most of his dramas and he was mostly depicted as a gentleman and romantic character... so the thought of him as a psychotic killer thrilled me and with no doubt he was no disappointment! Lee Dong Wook is perfect as a psycho he is in the drama, a handsome psycho, if I would say.
As for our protagonist, Im Siwan, I'd be d*mned if I said he did not surprise me with his acting. At first you'd think he's just random dude with anger issues, but as the story unfold I came to realize he also have some screw loosed in his head. Like I mean, if he can't handle the apartment, how was he even able to endure the residents. Of course, I also considered his circumstances, but still if I was him the moment I stepped in the apartment I'd be like 'nuh uh no way, adios'.
Anyway, aside from the main characters, I'd say the casting director did a good job hiring even the minor roles, the twins? the pervert? the ajumma? the police? I'd give them a chef's kiss. They are just perfect. OH! And let's not forget the cinematography and sites.
First of all, the details on the lighting, camera angle, and transition are just perfect that Hollywood might shy away and learn a few things from it. It's to the point that even the color grading was adding a touch on the story. Finally, the intricate details on the site. The location. Its simply giving 'hell' at first glance. After watching the series, I even have to rewatch it to find the clues that I had missed.
In summary, watch Strangers From Hell if you are trying to finish a long task, and do note NOT WHILE STUDYING because you might turn all your time trying to solve the mystery in the series rather than studying. I gave it a four star out five, because I have a lot of questions to ask like does Seo Moon-Jo have feelings for Yoon Jong-woo, if yes then what feelings are they? because the ending of the series definitely implied it? to confirm if it's canon you might as well check the webtoon series which is already completed.
